Mom and Me Club
Mom and Me club is a very special time for you and your young child. It is a time of activity and and time to bond in a fun learning environment. Mom and Me Club is from September through July and the activity changes throughout the year. there is no boredome and it allows you to sample classes throughout our programs to seewhere your child's interest will possibly be in the future. Mom and Me Club is also a great time to meet up with other moms and their children to start forming great friendships. Or invite your friends to be a part of Mom and Me Club with you for great fun!
Here is what you will enjoy in Mom and Me Club: September-November the class is musically centered and materials from our Music Pups prgram is used. December - February is great gymnastic fun March-May is fun creative movement/dance June and July is swimming lessons
Tiny Tot Dance For those that are not quite ready for a full dance class, we have Tiny Tot Dance Class. A 30 minute creative movement class that lets your little one feel like a big kid. Class age is 18-24 months and they do not have to be potty trained. Parent not in class but must remain on site in case there are any restroom issues. This class is for boys and girls and they will love moving to the music and exploring movement in general!
Tiny and Mini Combo Classes Fun and variety is what every young student wants and deserves. Combo classes allows for that. Combo classes can be a combination of Pre-ballet, Tap and Jazz or Music and Tumble. The most requested of our combo classes is our Tap, Ballet Tumble combination class. In any case, there is no time for boredom with a combination class because there is just too much fun going on! Combo classes fill fast! So if the class you want is filled, we can put you on the waiting list for the next available opening.
Tap Dance Tap dance, with its percussive sounds and rhythms has always been a favorite class for children and adults. Drumming with your feet on the floor and matching rhythms with the music makes tap dancers a very special musician. Tap dance is more than just steps to learn, but rather patterns, rhythms and tones that makes this a ver fun dance style. Tap dancers are know for their fast feet and fast thinking. Some studies suggest that learning to tap dance improves test scores in mathmatics. After all, math is patterns of numbers and symbols, so the studies very well could be true. In any case, we believe the benefits of tap dance include a healthy lifestyle, muscle development and motor development that transfers to many situations. The greatest benefit may be just sheer fun!
Lyrical Unlike the rich history of Ballet and Jazz, Lyrical dance has a very limited history to date. Lyrical is a fusion of Ballet, Jazz and Modern steps and techniques and challenges the choreographer for the proper blending to go with the lyrics and emotion of the music being used. A mature style, Lyrical is not generally recommended or used for young students. The older the student, the more life experiences in dealing with emotions, and so the interpretations are much easier for an enjoyable performance. We suggest that ballet be taken along with the lyrical class. Jazz and Modern would also compliment the lyrical dancer.
Ballet Know for it's beauty and grace, ballet is actually the foundation of all dance methods. Besides being beautiful and graceful, ballet can be powerful with lifts and jumps that athletes dream of. Whether the movements are quick or slow and controlled, ballet is a dance method that develops strength, flexibilty, elevation and amplitude while helping the student to build self reliance and confidence in their movements. Ballet classes are highly recommended as a starting class. Are you an athlete? There is no better class than ballet to achieve better athletic ability for boys and girls.
Ballet Classes For All Ages
Pointe Although beautiful and graceful, pointe requires tremendous strength in the legs and feet. It is because of this, a student must have no less than three to four years of proper ballet technique class prior to going on pointe. An appointment with our staff and teachers will help to determine if you are ready for pointe class. Going on to pointe before being properly trained is not only not recommended, but can be damaging to young bodies. Minimum age is 12 years of of age (although there have been some exceptional 11 year olds).
Jazz Dance Jazz dancer has a very rich history that can be traced back to African dancing. Some claims are that it was a fusion of European and African dancing. The fact is that Jazz Dance is a broad range of different styles. Jazz Danzz tends to be one of the most popular of dance methods due to its high use in movies and on television. Jazz is a very fun class and we keep it lively and different each year by using music and choreography that allws our students to learn about the many different styles and faces of Jazz Dance.

Hip Hop/Streetmoves Hip hop infused with a bit of funk, pop and lock and break equals what we call Streetmoves! A fun class that has an athlete style which most teen and pre-teen dancers are attracted to. The music is pumping and the floor is jumping with great choreography. Students only need to wear fun loose fitting clothing for this class and a pair of hip hop sneakers (that are available in our store) to have a great time. Jeans and baggie athletic shorts are discouraged. Sports bras are recommended due to the athleticism of this dance style. Ages 8 yrs and up and a class that has been designed and suited for ages 6 & 7 yrs.
