Dance is a great class for fitness and grace! Students of all ages and both gender can greatly benefit from a dance class. Dance allows a student to explore fully the magnificent movements that body can perform. Self esteem and confidence are always a benefit of a dance class. But did you know that the right dance classes and teachers also offer a bit of history, math and science?
Choreography for dance is all age appropriate and up to date by industry standards. We follow a set syllabus that is recognized by dance departments of universities, so that proper learning can be achieved by all students. The small class sizes allow for a wonderful learning environment that enables the teachers to spot problems in technique before they become habits.
Costumes for our spring shows are also age appropriate and are selected on the basis of helping every young performer to look wonderful on stage no matter their age, shape or size. Music is carefully selected to meet the needs of the students and not the teachers. The music is scrutinized to be sure our students are only subjected to wonderful, creative, fun and uplifting musical arrangements to work with. Great care is used to filter out language in lyrics that is improper.
Our music program is taught by university trained teachers that know and understand music theory. Classes are documented as far as attendance and time in class for reporting purposes. The majority of our classes are private, although we do offer group classes in Keyboard and Guitar. So, if you are looking for music instruction, this is the place to be! From piano and voice to trumpet and saxophone, we can help your child achieve their dreams of being a musician. Gymnastics and Tumbling is a great class for physical education. Gym-N-Learn for our preschool age group is a great step for the very young homeschooler who wants to do gymnastics, learn about muscles in the body and nutrition! Also check out our young child YOGA class. Our Acro-Gymnastics classes for school age childen is full of possibilities fro learning about bady awareness,spatial awareness, distance, time as well as developing a strong and flexible body! This program is not competitive, although we offer performance team for local performances and spring show.
Swimming lessons at our Star Fish Swimming Academy in Woodward is some of the best instruction your child can receive. A member of United States Swim Schools Association and American Learn To Swim Teachers Association, we take the instruction of your child's safety in the water seriously! Our staff has over 40 years experience in aquatic instruction at all levels and our teachers have been trained to deliver a wonderful program your child will enjoy and you as a parent will respect. Swimming classes are held to a 6:1 student/teacher ratio to ensure each student receives special attentionto their needs in the water.
Every little girl dreams of being a cheerleader and here they can live that dream! We offer clinics, cheernastics classes and exhibition/competitive cheer leading. Want just a home schooled squad? All we need is 8 to 10 enrollment and we will offer a cheer squad just for home schooled.
If you are looking for an enhancement for your preschool age child, take a look at our Move-N-Learn Academy. This program is limited in size and offers preschool age children the "edge" they just might need to succeed in other studies. Students learn through interactive arts based programs that enhance the learning of the abc's, 123's as well as colors, months of the year, days of the week, tying shoes, healthy choices, pre-reading skills and much more. An Art program by a university trained art instructor is also offered in the evenings! We are so happy to finally be able to offer this to our students and families and plans are being made to offer more levels in our curriculum this fall! We believe in family. That is why we also offer the M&M Club (Mom & Me) year round. Moms and their precious little ones enjoy making music andsinging together as well as participatiing in gymnastics, dance and swimming! The value in taking classes with us is the extras that ALL of our students receive but are not charged extra for, such as the POWerful Words Character Building Program, Bring A Friend Weeks and our Student Appreciation Days and membership in the Saturday Matinee Stars Club at Lakeside Theatres in Woodward. Parents appreciate the fact that they are fun AND free!
New this fall is FABULOUS FRIDAYS! This one full day of arts training is offered on Fridays for those students that do not attend a public or private school on Fridays. A full day of dance, music, art, musical instruments,voice and more. Fabulous Fridays are also a perfect match for home schooled children that want an opportunity to learn to work with other children in a positive environment. Fab Fridays is fro those who are in Pre-K through 3rd grade. Fab Fridays is currently being offered in the Woodward location only at this time, but if you are in Enid and are wanting Fab Fridays for your child, just let us know and we will see what we can do for you!
