Trying To Decide On A Preschool Education Environment For Your Child?
If you are like most parents, you want to make the best choice for your child's early education and experiences. It can be confusing as to what is the best method and style of educational learning for your child. But if you are certain that you want more than the typical educational setting for your young child, then take a look at Move-N-Learn Academy and find out that all learning environments are not the same. We believe that children learn best when they are given the opportunity to move, create and explore! By incorporating movement and the arts with an early childhood education program, children have the great opportunity to discover their world in a whole new way! Integration of the arts offers children opportunities to assimilate and apply what they learn in relevent and meaningful ways. Hands on project based learning addresses students multiple intelligences and learning styles. According to an article on the website of Americans For The Arts, arts based learning is not just something to do for fun, but iis vital to the preschoolers learning and development:
Art Experiences that Promote Learning Source: Young Children and the Arts: Making Creative Connections, 1998, pp. 11–12
Dance helps build motor control, body relationships, and a sense of direction.
Drawing, sculpting, and other visual arts develop spatial acuity.
Group activities, such as learning dance steps or singing songs, build social skills.
As children describe people and things in their world using pictures, body movements, and mime, they enhance their descriptive, nonverbal, cognitive capabilities.
Repeating stories, poems, and songs strengthens memory.
The art supplies children choose for their work reflects their approach to process and outcomes.

Today, there are many young student educational options available to families and finding the right fit for your child can be a bit confusing. While checking out different education progrms for your child, be sure that you are clear as to what setting you are looking for. Some daycares offer a "preschool" options that parents may select out of convenience. And although being in a daycare setting that is licensed by the state agencies, not even all "preschools" in daycares are the same either. Private educational environments may or may not cost more than the privately owned daycare that offer a "preschool". It can be so confusing! Click here to find out what four questions a parent should ask in locating a educational setting.
All young child learning programs know the value of learning the ABC's, days of the week, months and holidays of the year, and working with numbers, but the method of delivery is what differs the most. From the programs that have a child sitting for several minutes to those which allow a child to move from center to center for self learning there are many diferences and many opinions as to what is the best setting for learning.
A 1991 study showed that students in schools with an arts focused curriculum reported significantly more positive perceptions about their academic abilities. A University in California (Irvine) reported that kindergarteners showed a 46% boost in their spatial reasoning IQ after only eight months of piano instruction.
In October of 2011,The Globe and Mail, a Canadian Newspaper, stated that Sylvain Morena, a neuroscientist at Baycrest's Roman Research Institute, has focused his efforts of training the brain. He recently reported the results of a study in which children aged 4-6 years learned about music- the basics of rhythm, oitch and melody, in a computer based cognitive training program that involved games and cartoon characters. After 20 days of instruction, the children performed significantly better on a verabl IQ test compared to scores before the training. Why would studying music lead to gains on verbal IQ? "Music and language share brain processing and structure", Dr Mareno says.
Arts based learning is not new to the education setting. Arts based learning is the enhancement method that is used in the Move-N-Learn Academy Pre-K and Jr Kindergarten programs. It is our belief that young children learn best through movement and arts based activities such as music, pre-piano, art, dance, gymnastics and swimming. These art elements allows the young student to connect the cognitive learning of a core curriculum to true life activities. Adding the arts to general pre-education needs is a great way to learn.
We encourage you to take a look at the Move-N-Learn Academy for your young child's early learning program options either as a stand alone program, home schooled enhancement or public school enhancement. We believe you will be pleased with the out come. Move-N-Learn Academy offers a child more because we believe that they deserve it.

Non-Daycare Pre-K Program
Our program is great for those families that are wanting a preschool education experience that is not in a daycare setting. We are not a daycare and do not offer any daycare services. We are a private for profit program and do not accept state assistance for tuition pament for our students tuition. We offer State Certified and Experienced teachers
Our private Pre-K5 program is focused on your child learning what they need to succeed in school. Work and success is monitored to meet State mandates and exceed the Oklahoma objectives. Pre-K5 class is great for those children that do not meet the state cut off date for public school but are too advanced for preschool or pre-k, those who are not ready for a full day of school or those who are homeschooled and parents want to add to their academic levels and socialization. Pre-K5 class is for those who are ready for a more structured learning setting and are ready to advance on to other adventures in learning.
"It's no secret that attending preschool will prepare your child to succeed in kindergarten. But according to research, kids who attend a quality program also have higher reading and math scores a few years later-- and they even tend to make more money as adults. While it may seem early to begin thinking about preschool now, most parents start researching and planning a year or more in advance."
