Focus and Concentration on a single subject for children can be difficult. But studies indicate that when a child is allowed to use their imagination and images they hold in their mind, their focus and concentration is better. Allowing the child to create from those images may help to train the child and the brain to focus better on other single subjects such as reading and math.
Eye/Hand Coordination is important in alot of life skills. Therefore, if the student is learning to focus hard on the subject and work with the hands at the same time, better eye/hand motor skills are developed. Even just the simple use of scissors to cut out small shapes has been found helpful.
Creative Thinking and the ability to create is a very important skill for young children to develop. After all, it took alot of creative thinking and imagination to put a man on the moon or a rocket into the air. Creative thinking skills are an important part of our lives and to develop that skill at an early age, may give children an advantage in school and as an adult later.
